The question isn't of the magnitude of how Santa gets around the world delivering toys to everyone, or the more spiritual mysteries like how the sacred oil of Hanukkah burned for 8 days or how the magi of the Bible's New Testament found the baby Jesus.
Little Egg Harbor's Christmas Mystery has a much shorter history than those. It only goes back four years.
The mystery, who places the Christmas ornaments on the pine tree at mile marker 58.3 along the Garden State Parkway?
Every year it starts with one ornament on the south bound lanes of the Garden State Parkway, just south of the Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor Exit!
Every year the ornaments appear. No one has taken credit for this decorating feat. A feat because few years back all the low hanging branches of the pine trees were cut after the ornaments showed up. But that didn't deter Little Egg Harbor's secret decorator, and if the mystery plays out as it has for the last four years, about a dozen ornaments will hang from this tree along the Garden State Parkway in Little Egg Harbor by Christmas!
