Motivational Monday: A wolf spider's spin on successful marketing!

Motivational Monday: A wolf spider's spin on successful marketing!

Are you strategic and aggressive regarding your marketing efforts or just throwing anything out there, hoping you'll CATCH a buyer's or seller's attention?

Hope is not a business plan and perhaps you could take some lessons from a wolf spider, they are:

  • Creative
  • Diligent
  • Aggressive
  • Proactive
  • Consistent
  • Industrious
  • Extremely detailed
  • Territory oriented
  • Purely Self-motivated
  • Specific to their target market

As you can see from the picture, these overachieving spiders cover all angles in their capture area to ensure success. No wasted efforts, no excuses. A wolf spider's mission is one of survival and instinct, knowing that it is imperative to capture now as well as prudent to save some of its catch for future use.

Do you set income aside for later use?

We can all learn from the lessons nature provides us if we wish. A cohesive, consistent marketing plan is key to driving traffic to your business, will save you money, time and effort. Capture your local market and ensure your own success, now and for the future!

After all, if a wolf spider can successfully do it, so can you.

OMG. The ONLY spider I want to know about is the radioactive one that bit Peter Parker. Unless it gives me super-powers like Spider-Man, I don't want anything to do with spiders!!! Even motivational ones!

Nice post anyway.... but I REALLY hate spiders....

Bob, Knowing your target market is key too!

Thanks Roger, I appreciate that!

Virginia, I'm glad you appreciated the post despite your aversion to spiders!

Sharon, Some people just get itchy and squeamish when they think of spiders but I see the beauty they create and their natural talent! I do not play with them, mind you!

This has nothing to do with real estate or maybe in some way can be applied although I don't see how at the moment.  But, I read that researchers experimented by videotaping a male wolf spider and digitally removed the tufts of hair from his legs to see if the female will still be interested because that is what attracts her, his hairy legs.  When they played the video back to the female, she lost interest.  I hear her now "Uhm you ain't handsome no more, get away from me". (:-D)

But I digress, you make a valid point a business plan is necessary in order to have a successful business.

New picture?

So, I guess the male wolf spider in that experiment was a bachelor for life? Well in that case, he would have more food for himself, time to do what he liked and have friends over anytime he wanted! Ha-ha!

And yes, a plan is most important Dee. Same picture, I moved the white flowers out from around my head in photoshop.

Ah the webs we weave to get the job done.  I'm not fond of spiders but I do appreciate the beauty of their webs and the determination, consistency and work that goes into creating them.  A great work ethic.

I’m still trying to find that perfect spider web here in San Diego, but they are few and far between because we just don’t have enough vegetation for them to build nice webs like those.

Wow, it has been many years, Wanda... but to sit back and watch a spider build a web is one of life's little miracles...

With the World Wide Web we really can set up a net that captures lead after lead after lead it is a matter of what we do with those leads that sets us apart.

Wanda - talk about determination, nothing is quite as determined as a spider, spinning it's web.
