Old Fashioned Parade was a huge success in West Chester, PA

It was a great night to be in West Chester last night!  This is one of my favorite events of the year! It was frigid but the cold only put me more into the spirit of Christmas!  This parade was nothing short of spectacular and I only wish my camera had cooperated and taken better photos.

One of my favorite things was seeing The Lone Ranger on the tallest and most beautiful white horse (Silver) that I have ever seen!  It was truly something to see.

There were 8 high school marching bands, one better than the other and West Chester University Marching Band outdid themselves!

There was dancing by very talented dancers and singing by John Castro, who has a lovely voice.

There were Clydesdale horses that are such beautiful animals and giant dancing elves!

Local and state officials were on hand to offer good cheer and everyone's favorite State Senator, Andy Dinniman was there with his beautiful dog!

And my favorite part was, of course, Santa!

I love Santa!

I exclaimed more than once that this parade is so much more fun without the kids!  No one was bugging me, no one was complaining that it was cold.  I was there with my friends and we had a blast!

A huge thank you to the Borough of West Chester, Mars Drinks and The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce.  My apologies if I've missed any sponsors.  You all did a fabulous job and it was a wonderful night!

Can't wait until next year!

Susan, two things come to mind right away, 1. where was Tonto, dissed again huh, 2. Those poor girls in those short skirts on a fridig night. While I am a normal red blooded American male who truly appreciates a short skirt, I definitly feel sorry them though. Glad you had a great night, say hi to Liz

I felt sorry for them too Gerry.  There were a lot of kids and young people in the parade and it was freezing!  Liz was in NYC kicking up her heels there, but I will say hello when I see her.  :-)

Susan,

I love small town parades. A chance to see your neighbors and plenty of room for watching everything. I loved the Lone Ranger but I sure don't remember that saddle.

And Gerry, I don't know where Tonto was.  It's a mystery.

Hi Rich, this parade rivaled some of the bigger city parades, it had that much stuff going on!  As for the saddle, I didn't notice.  The horse was so beautiful!

Great pictures!  I love that kind of stuff, but I can't stand this weather - so I especially enjoy good pix, it's like I was there but I can still fell my toes!!  I saw flurries on an inspection in Coatesville yesterday!!

Joe, thank you!  It was cold!

Robby, sorry I'm late getting back.  It did get much colder!

Russell, I do believe it was The Lone Ranger and his horse, Silver!

Hi Susan...If I lived in West Chester, PA I would have been out there with you looking for Tonto, giving leggings to the dancers, and given my list to Santa.
