It's interesting to see all the controversy about LCDC.  With that said, on the surface, this looks like a great thing they are doing:

The city's urban renewal agency may have to redefine its boundaries to help a Coeur d'Alene school comply with federal handicap access laws.

The Lake City Development Corporation can't legally give money directly to the Sorensen Magnet School for the Arts and Humanities while the school remains outside the urban renewal district, said LCDC attorney Ryan Armbruster.

"A direct payment of funds for the Sorensen School improvements does not appear authorized by either the Idaho Urban Renewal Law, the Local Economic Development Act, or the Lake District Plan," Armbruster wrote in a July 18 opinion.

After studying the opinion, the LCDC board unanimously agreed on Wednesday to contract for a study to determine the eligibility of Sorensen -- and Winton Elementary School - for inclusion in the district.
