Stars come in all shapes and sizes, will yours shine bright throughout your life?

My dear friends, I wrote this post a while ago.  I mentioned in it how some folks think of loved ones lost when they see a shooting star.  Someone special shared a story about this very thing.  Tonight I am forgoing my post to repost this one and once again remind those who have lost loved ones, they are not forgotten.

My heart and prayers are with Tish Lloyd and Cinnamon Wright (and of course Zoe) as they say goodbye to Tish's mom.

Please send them your love, your prayers and your well wishes as they morn their loss.

Stars come in all shapes and sizes.

They have many meanings.

The meanings change from person to person.

And each persons view of the meaning of a star changes throughout ones life.

Stars can be a sign of Status or Authority.

Check out one of my favorite stars recent posts; There's a new sheriff in town, like it or not.................

A shooting star, while magnificent to see, can fade so quickly.  What does it mean to you?  To me it meant to make a wish, then I met a beautiful family, here on Active Rain, that share shooting stars to remember loved ones lost.  Can you find a more beautiful meaning than that?  This one's for you Tish, Cinnamon and Zoe!

Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight.  I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight.  Have you ever wished on the first star?  I do!  Are you thinking of the night sky at dusk?  That's one kind of star.

I'm making my wish on this star, my first star, 1 Featured Postthe one that just appeared from the AR Gods like it was just dropped down from heaven.  Okay, that is a slight exaggeration, but you get the point, or in this case, I got the points.  :)D

I wish 2011 will have many stars shinning bright, no more extinguishing flickers of hope.  I wish for happy healthy stars in my family, friends and associates to shine brilliantly and long.  I wish to shine bright, perhaps the brightest among the brightest.  After all isn't the sky the limit?

So while your gazing upon the stars, looking for the meaning of life,

don't forget all the stars that are in your life now, and in the past;

God bless all of you stars in Active Rain ~ and all of your stars!

Good morning Laura,

What a lovely post....I don't think there is a child arround that does not look up in the heavens and wish upon a star..as adults we forget and need to time the time to gaze at the heavens for support when we are in need.

Oh sweet John, thank you so much.  Everytime I see a shooting star now I am reminded of a story Tish told me, so this just seemed fitting to repost.  You too deserve many stars.

Patricia, I always hear opposites attract, but I truly believe that birds of a feather flock together.  Silly sayings I know, but I am so glad you have become part of my constilation as your goodness shines brightly!

Laura,  You have reminded me of one of my "Stars".  When my mom died a reporter friend wrote a story about her in the local paper.  She said when you go outside tonight, look up to the heavens.  You'll see a new star.  She went on to say that would be Jean, my mom.

Today, 34 years later, I still look up from time to time and remember what a shining star my mom was.  As I told Tish, it gets easier but you'll never stop missing her.

Marian, thank you so much for sharing this story.  What a wonderful friend to write such sweet and helpful words for you in the paper.  Have you shared this story with Tish?  I think it would mean a lot to her.  Ask her about her shooting stars.  It does get somewhat easier over time.  I'm so glad you are able to be there for Tish.  Without you and Roger and her other friends, being there for her, praying for her, it would be so much tougher.
