This Clown gets a Carnival and I owe it to being Active in the Rain

You gotta admit one of the GREAT things you can say about Matt and Active Rain is if you DIDN'T know what the heck a blog was, you sure will in a very short time. If you got kids... you might even be able to stand proud, puff out your chest and say... "I GOTTA BLOG". (Unfortunately, your kids aren't THAT impressed... you feel somewhat like Charlie Brown on his Halloween special when he says... "I gotta rock.")

But I digress...

So anyway, after awhile you get your blog groove going and you are all happy and content and you start reading other's blogs and you love it, for you are learning and sharing and commenting and associating. And you NOW realize you are part of a social network. So if you got kids (who most likely use My Space) you are able to stand proud, puff out your chest and say... "I'm on a Social Network too!" (And your even more proud of the fact that THIS social network doesn't have Lechers... but we do have Lychees so that's gotta count for something!)

But I digress...

So you read and read and read. And you stumble on Mary McKnight's blogs on blogging. AND YOU ARE STOPPED COLD IN YOUR TRACKS. WHAT THE HELL IS SHE TALKING ABOUT? THERE'S MORE TO BLOGGING? THERE CAN'T BEEEEE MORE!!! RSS FEEDS? FEED what? So you consider it best just to IGNORE her figuring she is WAAAAAY too pretty to be intelligent. (You are just happy and content in your simple conclusion that RSS FEED must be the delicious little candies E.T. ate.)

But I digress...

So you read on. Comment on. Blog on. And life is good in the Rain. But in your readings you hear that a Blog Carnival is coming. Maureen Francis talks about Carnivals, Christine Forgione talks about Carnivals! I love Carnivals! Can I go? A CARNIVAL for adults.... sounds like fun. Now you FEEL like a kid... only when they were about 5 years old.

And in your discovery about Blog Carnivals you hear that Broker Bryant has WON a Carnival. WIN!!!!????? There are games at the Carnival? Are there rides too? And you mumble and grumble a bit because Broker Bryant seems to be able to win gold stars for farting, and on top of that he has a Lovely Wife! Is there anything HE can't do well?

But I digress...

So the whole point of this blog is to announce that I am hosting a The Carnival of Real Estate on June 11, 2007 on my "pretty blog". I couldn't be more thrilled and honored. The cool part of all this is is it will be the FIRST TIME EVER that a stager has hosted a Real Estate Blog Carnival... which will surely help the staging industry get its message out.

I have to thank, Mary, Maureen, Christine, Bryant, TLW, and Matt for teaching me and coaching about blogging and all that it can be. In my mind you are some of the best drips that have ever dropped. You have helped us and our efforts to "stage it forward..."

But I digress...

Craig, oh what a post! I laughed and then thought, that's just how I feel when I read that 'there's more to blogging'!! And there really is! I LOVE reading your posts!! Great pic!

So, a 'carnival'? I've not yet read enough to have figured out just what that is, but with this kind of advance notice, perhaps I will have figured it out by then. AND if I can start and finish Mary's "Bootcamp", perhaps I can even participate! ;-)

Your 3rd paragraph sums it up perfectly for me, and probably for those as new or newer to blogging as I am!

Wow Craig, how awesome is that! Congrats and I am so happy that you will be representing all the little Staging Raindrops of AR!

But, I've got to tell ya - I still don't understand all that is involved in blogging or how this site really works - for instance, what are "RSS" and "ATOM"???

On second thought - I am just one of those people who needs illustrations and as few words as possible to understand anything (totally a visual person). So, if you can blog me an answer using illustrations and only an occasional word or two of explanation, that would be "totally cool"!

Until then, I'm just....
