Tax Break still available

When it comes to Round Lake real estate it is not too late to take advantage of one tax credit that is still available to homeowners.  If you make energy efficient improvements to your home through the end of the year you have an opportunity to recoup 30% of the cost on eligible improvements.  If you feel that you are going to need a new door, windows, or water heater in the near future for your Round Lake property, now would be a great time to make the purchase.

The tax credit is part of the American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009 and provides a tax credit of 30% of certain energy efficient improvements to a home, up to $1,500.  Eligible items include windows, doors, insulation, water heaters, and roofs.  Larger improvements like solar systems, wind turbines and geothermal heating systems offer a tax credit up until the year 2016.

If you are going to take advantage of the tax credit and make an energy efficient improvement to your Round Lake home, the home must be your primary residence and the improvement must be made by December 31, 2010.  Click here for further information on the tax credit.
