  • A homeowner who successfully negotiates and closes a short sale will be eligible for a Fannie Mae-backed mortgage after 2 years
  • Often times a Short Sale will not affect your credit history as negatively as a Foreclosure.
  • In a Short Sale, the loan is typically reported as debt paid in full.
  • Typically, a Short Sale will not present a challenge to employment.
  • In a properly managed Short Sale, the home will likely be sold close to market  value resulting in a much lower chance for a deficiency judgment.
