Nashville TN - Things to do for the Holidays! Part 3
This upcoming weekend will host some of the favorite local Christmas oriented activities of the year.
Starting DECEMBER 10th:
Story with Santa The Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill TN is hosting a cookies and milk visit with Santa from 7-8:30pm Friday evening. Santa will read a Holiday story to the children. 615-302-0971
The Blair Children's Chorus Program at Ingram Hall at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music. Several different Choirs from the Childrens' programs at Blair will perform Christmas music beginning at 7:30pm.
Winter Song 2010 hosted by Metro Parks Theater Department's Young Actors Program at Two Rivers Mansion. Young vocalists from age 12 through high school will perform a holiday cabaret. Cost is $12 and includes appetizers. Shows are Dec 10th and 11th at 7:30 pm and Sunday the 12th at 5pm.
DECEMBER 11th
Granville Country Christmas, for a fun full day of family activities, drive approximately an hour east on I-40 to the small town of Granville where the whole town comes alive with Christmas activities. Get the Granville Country Christmas schedule. From 10am to 9pm enjoy Santa, a parade, lighting of the Christmas tree and more. 931-653-4511
Christmas with the Acklens takes on Dickens "A Christmas Carol", 10am to 4pm at the Historic Belmont Mansion. Mingle with the characters as you view the decorated mansion. Then step into the Grand Salon and meet Father Christmas and enjoy refreshments while you listed to Victorian Carolers.
Deck the Hall Holiday Celebration at the Country Music hall of Fame 10am to 2:30pm. Children can make holiday cards or art with wood blocks from Hatch Show Print. 416-2001
Dickens of a Christmas street festival in downtown Franklin both the 11th and the 12th. This 25 year tradition turns downtown Franklin TN into a quaint Victorian town with the Characters of Dickens A Christmas Carol. Saturday 10-5 Sunday Noon-5pm.
DECEMBER 12
Walk Through Bethlehem. This annual event is hosed by Woodmont Christian Church on Hillsboro Road in Green Hills. Enjoy a live recreation of a marketplace during the time of Jesus' birth. 1-7pm
Christmas Moravian Love Fest at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church at 4pm. The Church's Brass Ensemble, chancel and bell choirs will offer a candlelight ceremony with Moravian refreshments. 665-0148
DECEMBER 14
Merry Tuba Christmas - back again at First Baptist Church in downtown Nashville on Broadway and 7th. 100 Tubas will play Christmas Carols at 11am and again at 12:30. The event is free but there will be a collection taken. The monies received will be used to fund the downtown Presbyterian Church's Homeless Lunches. 714-0247
