Real estate agents who are surviving in this market can be described with many different adjectives.  Resilient is one that comes to mind immediately.  To endure the effects of this ever changing real estate market, active agents need to be strong, tough and very pliable.

How pliable have you learned to become?  It is learning process, and those who pay attention and adjust to the changing times will be resistant to every stage of the market that takes a dip.  There are many more dips coming.

Pat, Ben and Martin Mullikin, commented on my post "Never Give Up...It's Always The Last Key On The Ring That Opens The Door" and they appropriately quoted Dale Carnegie who said "Act enthusiastic and you'll be enthusiastic."  That's a wonderful phrase to remember and practice to endure the next several years.

Block out the negative around you; stay enthusiastic and keep working.  You'll find business, and business will find you.  It works both ways, when you continue to work!!

Barbara - Great advice.  We have a new agent in our office and just the other day was complaining about the buyers in general.  The oldtimers advised her that this is it today and if you can't stand it, then real estate is not for you.

If real estate is being bought and sold...we have an opportunity to get our piece of that pie.

We all just have to work harder to increase our market share. New things have to be tried and old faithfuls have to be executed more diligently. Failure is not an option :-)

Barbara, those who believe there is no business out there, they just need to change their career.  There are businesses out there, maynot be hot all over the place, but there are.  When I was out to Houston raincamp, I got 2 listings, 1 buyer in those 2 days.  Keep working and they will come.
