Will There Be Snow in Portland on Christmas?
Carla's map is very interesting and should be consulted early to leave yourself ample time to take positive steps if you want snow in your town. The map shows a 10% probability in my area. I'm going to have to alert all of the kids I see to wear their pajamas inside out between now and Christmas - that is our formula in Northern Virginia. Check out the maop and get going!!!!!!
Will There Be Snow in Portland on Christmas?
Since growing up in SUNNY Southern California, I can remember one Christmas where it was hot enough to go swimming. As a kid, growing up in a no-snow climate, it was kinda depressing. I wanted it to snow, knew it wouldn't . . . so I hoped for rain -- at least!
Moving to the Great Pacific NW, around this time of year I get all excited. I always start to wonder will there be snow in Portland on Christmas? We almost had snow on Thanksgiving, but the storm tripped in a few days early.
I totally get the song "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" . . . because there's no such thing in So. California. California Dreamin', YES! White Christmas -- in your dreams!!

Idaho seems to be "on the map" for snow. Montana and quite a bit of Washington State are too. But, to answer the question will there be snow in Portland on Christmas . . . it looks as though we might miss it this year.
It's always fun to looking forward to Christmas, and for me, wondering will there be snow in Portland on Christmas is a 100% possibility compared to my childhood home. But not always a 100% probability . . . according to the map.
