Foursquare Badge - BaristaFoursquare Badge - BaristaThere are now 5 million users on foursquare, so chances are you know weveral people that are using the social site.  It is what I call a location based-micro-social media site.  When you start using it, you start to want to know how to earn badges.

The Starbucks badge is pretty easy to earn.  Just check in using foursquare to 5 different starbucks, and you will be awarded this flashy badge.

Check out foursquare at www.foursquare.com if you want to sign up for it.

I'm up to 55 badges, you can see me here:  http://foursquare.com/chris_alston

Just like any other form of social media, whether it is Twitter or Facebook or LinkedIn or ActiveRain...  You have to put effort into it, to see a return.  And yes, I do see a great return with Foursquare.  It has allowed me to make great contacts, and closer ones too.  Try it out.  :)  It's not for everyone, but I am loving it, in regards to Real Estate.  If I wasn't in RE, I probably wouldn't be using it.

Have a great day!!!

-Chris

Chirs...just signed up on Foursquare last week.  Have not had time to do much yet but it does seem like an enjoyable platform.

Chris thank you for the suggestion. I have never heard of foursquare, so I will have to check it out.. I mostly use facebook (which I have become really good at and its just now in the beginning phases of paying off, and I use activerain alot and its always exciting once I see my numbers climb in my market center, county and state and especially exciting once I see one of my blogs as a feature.. I can not get into twitter I very much dislike it... I have a LinkedIn but haven't spend enough time on it to see the benefit.. I will have to check out foursquare.

It can link to FB too...  :)

Well, try new things one you have mastered the others.  It sounds like you have mastered FB and AR, so off to the races!  :)

Holy cow Chris, I can hardly keep up as it is.  December is turning out to be very busy - I'm not always getting my comments and blogs done as much as I'd like!

Hi Karen - Well, glad that I was one of the comments you posted today!  It has been getting busy for me too!  I have to get everything done in the morning.  Or sometimes I write my blogs while watching TV at night.

This summer I put all my listing in it as destinations so folks could check in. HA. It was too new for our little area. NOT one person checked in except me! LOL! Oh well.... it was a great idea! I'll try again... people may have caught on by now!!

Chris, I need an app that will remind me to sign on FourSquare when I walk in somewhere.  I love Joni's idea of putting listings on it!

I use foursquare but it is annoying at times.  I'll be sitting in someplace and when I check in I'm too far away - which means someone signed up for the place on FourSquare when they were not really there.

Or there are the people the people that drive by Starbuck, check in but never go inside.

I am off & on with the whole foursquare thing.  I love social media, use twitter, facebook & active rain, not sure I want to integrate the foursquare thing totally.  My hubby is concerned about my safety with saying where you are at.  I just use it cautiously.  If everyone were honest & above board life would just be so much easier :)

Chris, I've heard of foursquare, but don't really know anything about it.  I'll certainly check it out, but with all the time I devote to AR I'm not sure how much time I can budget for it...social media is powerful and important...just need to find time to do it all.

Wende - Maybe a brick to the head?  HA!  :)  But you know, you are right, that would make it easier to remember...

Christina - HA!  You know, you can check in, and hide your whereabouts, and still get the credit?
