Dame Anita Roddick, Founder of The Body Shop, an international skin care organization, died Sunday night in England of a major brain hemorrhage. 

Among her accomplishment of making The Body Shop a successful and world-wide recognized organization, Anita was a powerful activist on making the world an all around better place to live not only for herself but for people now and in the future.  Anita not only encouraged people to conserve the environment but also found ways to support third world countries and communities by using their products to create The Body Shop products and continuously donated to many charities and non-profit organizations.  The Body Shop  has grown to over 2100 stores in over 55 countries since the first store was opened in 1976 in Brighton, on the south coast of England.

Along with my day job, I spend my evenings as a loyal consultant for The Body Shop at Home.  I was inspired by the company as they focus their 5 core values on making the planet a better place for everyone.

  • Defend Human Rights
  • Protect Our Planet

I urge you to take a moment to discover the passion this woman had for making this world a better place and giving back to communities around the world.   May she rest in peace.

It's always good to find out something new about a person and their beliefs. I believe we need to take care of what we are given and that's why "green" is a great thing!
