Don't believe it for one minute.  The numbers used by the government with regard to unemployment are spun in 17 different directions.  One thing for sure there is a monster number of unemployed who don't show up in the released numbers.  Welfare usage, including food stamps and other forms of public assistance are at all time highs.  Recent job hires have been part time, low paying seasonal jobs.  These are hardly the jobs needed to get the country moving.  One has to look no further than our friends in Europe to see whats in our immediate future.  Save money, we're going to need it....

On the news last night, they interviewed a small business owner that said if the Bush tax cuts are extended, he will use the tax cut money to hire another sales person.  If this tax cut goes thru more employers may feel this way.  But they are predicting another month of job losses and record unemployment.
