The Beach on Ice in Mason Open For Winter Fun!!
Okay, The beach may not be your first thought when it's below freezing and there's snow covering the ground, but in this case, this is the PERFECT time to be thinking about heading to The Beach...The Beach Waterpark in Mason that is!
It's time for their winter season. No swimsuits this time, and the only water will be frozen!
Featuring Ohio's largest outdoor ice skating rink, a toboggan slide, carriage rides, a petting corral, the Polar Express miniature train display, AND the Starlight Entertainment Pavilion!
Does that sound like enough to do? Oh, and did we mention all the Christmas lights on display??
Located at 2590 Waterpark Dr in Mason, just take I71 to Exit 25, head west and turn right between the Wendy's and Burger King, then follow the road around to the right!
Operating dates are December 10 - 12, and then daily from December 17 to January 2, 2011. Opening weekend includes $5 admission. You can buy tickets at the gate (but they'll cost you a bit more), or online at www.thebeachwaterpark.com . You can also reach them at 513.398.SWIM.
Admission tickets vary to just admission and limited ride tickets, to unlimited rides and skate rental. Please go to their site to figure out what best fits your budget and click on their calendar to get the hours of operation!
Enjoy the fun!

Bliz...
It all sounds like great winter fun! It's FREEZING here in GA, I wouldn't mind doing a little skating!
BLiz~ Sounds like a blast! I dislike the cold though..... But my kids would think it was fun, bet they stay busy!
Ditto Melissa about disliking the cold. The park does sound like fun. I'd go just to take pictures of the kiddos having Fun!!
Why am I just noticing this "bliz?"
That's very cool. I've never seen real ice-lake in person. Amazing. I'd be terrified to fall through! how thick is the ice?
sounds great....my children and grandchildren would have a blast there....it's sooooo cold out here...in the teens.
Very cool. I think I might have gone there years ago. Is that near Kings Park?
Richard, We drive by the place all the time. It's adjacent to I-71, it's well decorated and they get good turnouts during the session. Kind of cool to watch a business that figured out that being JUST a summer waterpark wasn't all they could do.
Melissa, Ice skating is something I've actually never done, and after years of soccer damage to my knees...they'd probably prefer I keep off the ice :) Bill
Joni, I swung by yesterday to take some pictures, but the best views are from the Interstate, and I'm not risking getting a ticket from our state troopers for pulling over, somehow I doubt they'd consider blogging an "emergency" (even though we all know better!).
Greg, Charita gave us the nickname some months ago and we liked it enough to keep using it! And the ice skating rink is set up in the wave pool area, not an actual lake. The adverstising says about 7500 feet of skating area.
Barbara, It's been rather chilly here too, and possible a couple more inches of snow this weekend....but you know how snow forecasts can be!
Debbie, It's really close to Kings Island, just the other side of the interstate and north very slightly. I used to play sand volleyball there about 10 years ago.
Liz & Bill - This sounds like a lot of fun, surprising there are still people going to our beaches in swimsuits, I guess they aren't from around here because it's a tad cold for me.
