My Kodak Moment that will need explaining.

What a great contest the KODAK MOMENT contest has been so far, Incredible family photos, great sunsets & wonderful locations.

I scoured my many photo albums to find my favorite pictures.

This particular photo is of terrible quality, bad exposure and a very rushed shot at the time, BUT it still makes me smile after all these years.

So what's the story?

While backpacking across Europe in the early 90's one of our stops along the way was Venice. An impressive City with many beautiful landmarks, waterways and tourist locations. My traveling companion and I visited all the sights that we had on our agenda and then we still had three hours to kill before we got back on the train and headed to Rome.

We decided to "Get Lost".....literally.

The plan was to just wander around the streets to kill time and then find the train station. As we wandered we came across this chap. At first we just got out of his way as he wandered down the alley, then we both looked at each other and laughed.

A VENETIAN CARRYING VENETIAN BLINDS.

VENETIAN BLINDS

We just stood there and giggled.

This was our KODAK MOMENT!

Ah, once you explained he was toting ventian blinds -- definitly funny and deserving of a giggle.  By the way, did you make the train to Rome.  I loved Rome and wore out a pair of Dr. Scholls walking and walking.

Sometimes the best way to see a city is to get off the tourist path and just go. I'll bet this photo triggers a lot of memories.

I still think it's so cool that you backpacked across Europe. An amazing thing to do!

Ellie, great play on words and even though a picture is worth a thousand words, this picture needed at least a few. Thanks for sharing

Good one. Begs the question of my youth "How do you make a Venetian Blind?" - Poke him in the eye.

Ellie,

this a nice one. The explanation keeps you on your toes. And bang, not even obvious for a second. And, BTW, Larry's comment is hilarious
