The December Challenges . . . Keeping the Christmas Spirit and Working to Maintain The Business

It's up. After listening to my bosswife for a week that the tree needed to get up, I managed to complete the task this afternoon.

After many a year of live trees, which are not easy to find as we have a vaulted living room, we bought a 9' pre-lighted tree. No more pine needles on the floor or crawling underneath twice a day to water the tree.

It doesn't smell as nice unless I get a few car scent trees at the car wash to add realism.

♫ We wish you a merry Christmas,

We wish you a merry Christmas,

We wish you a merry Christmas,

And a Happy New Year!

Good tidings we bring for you and your kin;

We wish you a merry Christmas

And a Happy New Year!  ♫

Day 10:  Did some work on the web site adapting some of the RainCamp tips. Also prepared additional farming for a second listing of mine that will also close this year. Prepared the mailing list for my holiday cards to past and potential clients.

Ed - Well it's about time!!  What took you so long?  The tree is beautiful....now don't you feel better?  I  have an artificial tree too and my husband went out and bought some nice mistletoe candles but the scent is more like evergreen....it's really nice.

Hi John, thanks with the high ceilings we have to have something bigger. It was a real job to put up the real trees and the needles were there forever.

Thanks, Joan, the grandson have nothing but big eyes when he saw it. It's a bit larger than the normal sized tree he has at home.

I'm sorry to disappoint you Donna, but the job still comes first

Andrea, Andrea, Andrea, you won't see the web site work as yet. Town pages and I haven't loaded them as yet. Stay tuned for the grand unveiling!

Hannah, we have to set up the site so the crawlers know how to search deep.

It's beautiful, Ed.  But, where's "Oh Tannenbaum?"  LOL  My granddaughters call these toilet brushes and INSIST on a "real" tree every year.  But, since I'm deathly allegic to all species of evergreens, I've had to use the artificial ones forever.  I agree with missing that real  pine scent - nothing like it.

Okay Ed, what I want is a report after the Christmas holiday explaining the pros and cons, my wife and I have been debating for the last few years about real, prelighted etc. Please, please, please let me know what your experiences are with the change. BTW Looks great from here

If you hadn't told us, no one would have known that tree is not real.  Good job, Ed.

Merry Christmas, and I love your tree. Many years ago we had a vaulted ceiling and used to put up really tall trees. Not any more!

And the tree looks spectacular Ed. Good thing the boss wife is on top of things or you might not have even put up a tree this year!

Pat, thank you, I held out as a tradionalist with a real tree, but the clean up and having to get it out of the hosue early finally took it's toll.

I don't know Juli, first you're not liking the tunes because they stay with you, not your making requests.

Gerry, I'll give you the skinny, Thanks for stopping

George, the lights won't go on unless you complete the final step

Ed, very funny.  Yes I did plug them in.  I even tested the plug by wetting my finger and sticking it in the socket to make sure it worked :)

Great job Ed, looks good! We found this green stick at the store that you hang in the middle of the artificial tree, in a few hours your house smells like a Douglas fir, check it out!
