What a clever way to raise funds! Last night I attended a "Wreath Stroll" - a holiday fundraiser at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden Connecticut. Local businesses were asked to donate wreaths which were then purchased by the highest bidder after a 2 hour silent auction. All of the proceeds from this wonderful event went to the Midstate Cancer Center.
I was very impressed in so many ways ...
First of all the display of creativity in the wreaths was amazing. A few of the themes included (but were certainly not limited to) wreaths decorated with gift cards, a few adorned with jewelry and another with lottery tickets.
I was also quite impressed by The Village at Kensington Place itself. It is an assisted living community where "The experience of aging is celebrated by providing the best personalized care to help seniors live well, mind body and soul."
From what I could see, it's not hard to live up to that promise. The campus at The Village at Kensington Place is absolutely gorgeous, the amenities too numerous to mention and the staff members were incredibly friendly and caring. I would highly recommend contacting Randi, Heather or Tina to schedule a tour of this amazing facility.
It was both an honor and a privilege [for which I am most grateful] to be a part of an event that benefited the Midstate Cancer Center. They offer many wonderful programs. Click here to view their calendar of events and to learn more about the Midstate Cancer Center and what they have to offer.
THANK YOU to the Village at Kensington Place in Meriden CT for all the work that you do to support this most worthy cause. AND thank you for allowing me to be a part of this event - count me in as a sponsor for next year. I have plenty of time to think of a great theme for the wreath I will donate next year!
