Black Tie 1/2 and 1/2 Party Day - Jolly Good Time - 31 days of Holiday Fun!
When we first moved into our home in Moon Valley, Phoenix Arizona we started the tradition of a formal Black Tie party before Christmas.
The first few years were quite small events but as the years went on the word got out how fun the parties were and we had over 60 of so folks coming.
The parties got so big that I was thankful I had a great caterer and friends who helped put the event on. And the decorating - it's like a gorgeous Christmas Village everywhere you look at our home inside and out. It takes about 2 weeks to complete!
We love it all and wouldn't have it any other way...except....When the market collapsed a few years back we saw the need to 'tone' down the event both for our pocketbook and everyone else. And as it turned out 'toned' down wasn't what quite what it looks like!
That's when we invented the Black Tie 1/2 & 1/2 Holiday Party! Enjoy the Pics!
What you may ask is a Black Tie 1/2 and 1/2 party? Well, here's the deal. Dress code= half of the outfit should be formal and the other half funny, crazy, silly or any combination of the two. And it doesn't matter what half is what - just have fun and let yourself go holiday. This allows everyone to put together something they already have in the closet - and not spend any money or perhaps spend just a little. The first year was hilarious - and each year seems to get even funnier! I am so looking forward to this years event. And of course I'll share the photos with you all!
