Pay it Forward at your local Animal Shelter
I do not recall a time when we did not have a family pet. From my first puppy, a black cocker spaniel named Lucky, to my current dog, a blue tick hound named Zeke. Over the years we've had cats, dogs, mice, bunnies, a goat and a horse. Our pets have brought so much joy and have asked so little in return, they really do become part of the family. Even our goat, Cecil. CA taught him to play fetch and she would let him in the house when my husband and I were at work. Cecil's story is a blog in itself, so I'll save it. But suffice it to say, our family loves animals!
This week, I'm Paying it Forward by helping to fill some of the wish list items for the New Hanover Humane Society. The New Hanover Humane Society, in Wilmington, NC is a non-profit animal shelter. And their wishlist is pretty basic. They'd like some blankets, rugs, hand sanitizer, trash bags, cat and dog toys and a few other things. I can't fill all the needs, but I can help a little, so I'm putting together a couple of boxes and CA and I are heading over there on Monday. I have to watch her carefully though, she'll try to bring at least 3 of the adoptable pets home wit

Won't you please consider helping your local animal shelter fill their wish list? If we all did just a little, we could really make a difference. And if you are considering getting a pet, please check your local animal shelter first! The animals there need you as much as you need them!
