Phil Hardberger Park

Enjoy Hardberger Park on San Antonio's northside at 13203 Blanco Road. Saturday afternoon, second week of December and it was t-shirt weather. It was a little chilly in the morning but it was nice in the afternoon. Get out for a walk or run when you can. Fitness is a big deal, and all workouts or exercise does not have to be in the gym. Get the kids, the dogs, the neighbors out for some fresh air, maybe even an afternoon picnic. Sunshine producied vitamin D is good for you. Former mayors usually are not recognized for any positive thing they do politically until after they are long out of office, if ever. Phil Hardberger is an exception. He was one of the driving forces in the acquisition of the land and funds needed to develop the park later named for him. Phil Hardberger Park is 311 acres of prime real estate. The development plan has several phases of improvements for the coming months. The first phase was opened in May 2010.

Phil Hardberger Park San Antonio TX

I was just able to spend a little time in the park yesterday but the trails for running and walking seem very nice. Nice areas to run and play with your pooches too. I noticed the play areas for kids too, and picnic areas. Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no reservations. Just because it's getting a little colder doesn't mean we shouldn't get out and enjoy the fresh air. Hardberger Park is just on of many San Antonio area parks where we can work in a little outdoor fun.

And what happened last night? We have short sleeves and t-shirts in San Antonio, and somewhere around 1,500 north of here, the Metrodome roof collapses. Blizzard like conditions. The football Vikings are having a tough year.

Monica-It's a little cooler today than yesterday, but I'd rather be here than somewhere with a parka, gloves, etc. I like Houston too. Lived there for several years. Keep smiling.

Wayne: We had the best kept secret around. Now folks will want to move to San Antonio so they can run around in T-shirts and shorts. They are really having some cold weather in other areas of the country. I'm glad I can do my home inspection year-round living here in The Texas Hill Country.

Carl-Yes, Saturday was nice, but we'll get some cold too before long. I'm sure doing inspections in the snow and ice is quite a challenge.

Susie-In a couple of more years, after they get in some additional work, it will really be nice. Cone on down.
