winds causing blowing snow and white out conditions in NWI blizzard of 2010 1 to 2 more feet of snow expected tonight in Porter County,  Northwest Indiana

We live in Valparaiso, IN and it's hard to see our neighbors homes right across the street!

Police Scanner calls are non-stop, with white out blizzards conditions, blowing and drifting snow, cars off the road or stuck, accidents with injuries, ambulance calls and more.

If you live in the Blizzard of 2010 path like we do, feel free to share your photos by posting them in the comments.

Stay Safe!

Oh my goodness!!  All we have is rain all day.  Pretty heavy at times.  I would much rather snow.

Stay safe! I often wonder why people think they need to drive in weather like that. Hoping your power remains on and you stay warm.

Oh wow!  I cannot EVEN imagine.  And, to boot, I feel really, really guilty right now, enjoying our southern California 80 degrees the past couple days.  Stay warm.  Have a hot toddy!

Hi Barb, since weather forecasters get paid whether they are wrong or right - I'm hoping the forecast is off by minus one foot lol

Oh Pat - now is not a good time to travel or visit here - the dispatchers are tri-aging squad cars and ambulances the calls are so frequent - can't imagine why so many are out since this was predicted and warnings have been out for 2 days...

Faina, rain would be nice - although when all this snow melts with the gound frozen I'm sure there will be flood warning ugh :0

Yes Judith- we baked cookies and made pasta :) refrigerator is stocked and generator gassed up (just in case).

Kathie - from your comments to God's ears - I agree!

Kristi - well tis the season for us and we lie in a snow belt due to our close proximity to lake Michigan!

Jean - people who live here by choice are bound by LOVE to family or loyalty to roots - we have to carry our sunshine on the inside - we also have many snow birds who only live here in season and are probably some of your neighbors  right now lol

LOL margaret - please do and I may have time to catch up on blogging in the next few days and todays showings were cancelled!

appreciate yo all taking time to stop by and comment!

sincerely,

grace

Grace & Jeff....the snow there is so much worse or greater--depends on your perspective--than here in our part of Michigan.  The winds are blowing & snow is to continue for 3 hrs more; but we do not have any blizzard hints.
Take care, stay safe, & when able, take some more photos.
Have a good week,
Barb

LOL Marcy - I bet you do!

hey Barb & Sal - you can get some significant snow up in your part of MI also!

Update=We got 1 foot so far last night - but the wind howled and there are drifts up to 2 ft and it is still flurrying and not expected to stop till later today!

Our office is across from the courthouse square in Valpo and court is closed, but we are open for biz:)

sincerely,

grace
