Sometimes You Choose a Career, and Sometimes a Career Chooses You

Everyone has a unique reasons why they take up a particular career, and real estate is no different in this than any other profession. Each individual agent has come to real estate for reasons all their own.

I've heard of real estate agents who became members of the profession after having very bad experiences as clients. These individuals put a lot of thought into their decision to become agents. They are people who chose their career. 

Ive also heard of real estate agents who became members of the profession because they had family members who were real estate agents. For them it seemed only natural to become an agent too. They are people whose career chose them.

I consider myself one of those who was chosen by the career. Which are you, chooser or chosen?

For me, going into real estate was a "midlife career change".  I had spent twenty-five years as a symphony musician and instructor at several colleges before making the switch.  My mom was a pretty shrewd real estate investor and she encouraged me in a way.

Real Estate was a path which I chose to persue. So I chose my career and I am still quite happy that I made the decision to do so.

I wanted to become a Realtor a very long time ago. It took a great deal of effort for me to break away from the management career that I pursued for so long in order to become a Realtor. Now that I am a Realtor, I truly feel that I was called to this profession. I truly love what I do.

I don't think I am either.....I had a good experience buying my own home, and I have no family in RE.  Actually, I would never have dreamed of any job that had the word Sell in it :)  but somehow destiny dropped this in my lap, and well, I just went for it.........

I chose real estate because it offered me the flexiblity I needed in my life at that time.  It was a good fit because I like working with people.
