This photo looks like a picture postcard doesn't it?
Lake Charles, Louisiana has several fine homes and estates currently for sale. I recently showed one of these lovely fine homes that was decorated beautifully for the holidays.
The stockings were all hung by the chimmney with care however like Santa.... I could not give a nod of approval when I turned around from the chimmney to see the seller's laundry!
Guess that was because the laundry room counters were all full!
Ugh, beautiful decorations - guess they were too busy to put away the clothes? At least they were clean, LOL.

We all know how difficult it is to sell a house. It has to be ready to show at all times. The decorations were really nice though.

Marilyn.. no matter when you show a home, it should be neat, even during the holidays.. even regards to your first picture, that does look like a postcard. You should copyright it and sell them.. ;o)
Good idea Jeff, I tried to sell the home and wrote a contract after my clients viewed it however we are $85,000 apart on a counter I got back today--isn't looking like it will happen :(
I wish these sellers would realize that when you price your home in the $500,000-$1,000,000 range and a serious buyer comes along who can close in 30 days you should not play reindeer games!
I have seen much worse. A beautiful home where a family lives and is making memories! I hope you sell it despite the laundry!!
Or old food on the counters, diapers overflowing in the trash, or stinky socks in the closet!!
Marilyn, this blog shows thw perfect reason why you need to look at the whole blog before you comment. One would say "Lovely, than spoiled the moment, than clean it up please!"
It is difficult for me to understand why Seller's would not leave their home in pristine condition when they are trying to sell it? I cannot fathom this but see this type of thing all of the time!
Marilyn, Merry Christmas! I'm sure you just quickly took care of all those details for the seller. Aren't agents great at a quick fix of a listed house.
