Housing Market

Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Masterpiece Realty

I read blog on Active Rain regarding Housing Market not coming back to 2005, 2006 prices ever.........really, really good blog. But now I can't find this blog . I want to add something to that....Of course I agree 100 % that this will not happen ( maybe not ever - you know 100 of years is such a long time). But I am afraid that if corporations are going to be doing what they are doing right now, we will not see anything good happening with housing market. And, I know - somebody will say - market is already changing ( I can see it in Port St Lucie, FL) for good. But what I am talking about is something a lot more grave than housing market right now.....I know in our profession we are more tuned in to needs of small business owners ( being small business owners ourselves). But, lets not forget - Our "bread" are mostly people working in regular jobs ( of course if you are dealing in market that sells mansions versus small single family homes, that is not true). Problem is that those people working in regular jobs are making less and less money. And I am not adjusting for inflation. THEY ARE MAKING LESS MONEY...Whatever jobs big corporations were able to send overseas, they did. Now, because unemployment is high they are trying to scare existing employees into accepting lower paychecks, higher insurance premiums, etc. Those corporations are still making money ( more and more every day), but their employees are making less and less. Also, what ever jobs they can, they give to subcontractors. There is not accountability on their part and subcontractors are hiring illegal aliens ( what more, I know of incidents where subcontractor is illegal alien). I know I sound like raving liberal ( I am, do not hate me for it, please...), but believe me, this will not end well for anybody ( maybe just for CEO's of big corporations) if something is not going to change. We need people in this country making more than "survival salary".  Well, there is so much more I would like to write, but I think I will stop now.........
