Do you use a Short Sale Attorney?

I have learned, even though I do right many short sales, that it is in my best interest to use a short sale attorney.  With today's technology, they do not have to live in your community in order to be qualified.  Today I have been getting my information on the short sale that I am working on to Asheville.  Makes no difference that there are 300 miles between us.

My advice to you is to get as good short sale attorney and let them do what they do best.  You continue to list and sell.

Very good advice, and some are better than others.  Happy Holidays!

Who pays for the attorney, the bank, the listing agent, the buyer?

In Orlando Florida the attorney base is not as successful at processing short sales. I think every consumer needs to seek legal advice. However I feel lawyers need to stick with foreclosure defense, which they understand. They have not been very organized and efficient in processing of short sales. That has been our experience. I do believe realtors should market and sell and have either a department or a third party company negotiate the short sale. I wonder what the future holds for agents that are attempting to process short sales and truly don't understand the packaging and how to process. I suspect homes that proceed to foreclosure based on agents lack of knowledge will show up in the future with negligent suits.
