Sometimes life is better from the inside looking out

Sometimes life is better from the inside looking out. Have you ever experienced so much that you want to hiberate inside a shell and just say "Phooey"?  Well this Active Rain blogger did just that...

Thank you for the "where are you Sherilyn" emails.... With the loss of 2 loved ones (former CHP partner in July & my fiance' in August) of this year, putting my dog Sam of 14.5 years down in June, the sudden death of my mom's cat Joshua 3 weeks ago and the sudden death (by blood clot) of my beloved Hunter (Active Rain's late night feline casanova) last Sunday night - I was just tapped OUT!

So I write this little blog, to get myself back in the game - I hope I can - but I confess, I am writing from the inside looking out.

Gracie Marie demonstrating for this blog!

It's times like the year you have just had that make me grateful for my faith.  I could not have survived without my Rock to stand on, lean on, and just plain wail to!  May the Comforter hold you tight on those nights that seem to stretch way too long.  You are an inspiration to so many.  Take the time to allow those blessings to be returned to you.  You are deserving!

It is totally ok to hibernate as long as you don't stay there too long.  Don't forget to take care of YOU!  Go for a walk, get a facial, curl up with a book.  You are loved and you have been missed here in the rain.

Hi Sherilyn-I totally know what it feels like to want to hibernate when life gets tough. I did it myself after I lost my home several years ago and had to move into a apt. I shut the world out for quite a while.  I slowly came out of it but it wasn't easy.  You are a strong lady I can tell from all I have read of your blogs. My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I want to wish you a Merry Christmas in the midst of your sorrow.

A little sunshine while you hibernate,

Sherilyn,

So, so sorry to hear about your recent loss of Hunter.  I can not imagine what you must be feeling, but I pray that you find your way out of hibernation when the time is right!

Sherilyn - So sorry to hear that life is so trying for you right now.  While I'm sure it feels like all you want to do is curl up and hibernate, getting out and mingling can also be healing as well.

Sherilyn ~ I've been sitting here trying to come up with just the right words, and they escape me.  I guess because there really are no "right" words at a time like this.  You've had an incredibly tough year, and yet, here you are.  Acknowledging it, growing from it and holding on.  I admire your spirit and I mourn your losses with you.  May you find the strength and comfort you need.  You, and your Mom (so sorry about Joshua), will be in our prayers.

Sherilyn, many people here in the Rain Know what the last two weeks have been like for me, (my dad and my husband, unexpected Illness) And they have been a great support to me. Take your time to heal as you need, but arms will always be open here in the Rain! Here's what I have to say about this unbelievable community.

Are we family, friends, or strangers in the Rain?

Sherilyn:  Wow.  You are turning FIFTY.  I was going to ask you if you ordered your "walker" yet... but perhaps you should go right ahead and get one of those "scooters" they advertise on late-night cable.  Poor baby !
