Occasional Book Review ... BACK SPIN (1997) by Harlan Coben ... from Ocean City, New Jersey

When one discovers an author as I often do somewhere in the middle of his written books, and particularly if he writes a mystery series with an interesting character; I try to read the books in order.  And as good as the Ocean City Library is, sometimes they can't obtain everything.  So I on occasion miss a particular book.

In the case of this book, #4 in the series with Myron Bolitar - an ex professional basketball play now sports agent and representative, I ran across it in Costco.  A great find!  I knew that I had not read this one involving a golf match along the Mainline and a missing teenage boy.  So I'm almost finished with this book read out of order, but an excellent read.

Harlan Coben writes a number of "Myron Bolitar" books which I enjoy, but he also writes a good many additional mystery books that stand on their own.  Often with a series writer, I don't like the non-series work as much.  That is not the case with Coben.  So at this special time of the year, I doubt you will find BACKSPIN anyplace but Costco or a used bookstore location.  But you will find some excellent books for the mystery reader, or potential mystery reader, on your gift-buying list.  I would highly recommend this author for your review!!!             dap
