Motivational Power Quote

See The World Through The Eyes of Your Customers

"The golden rule for every business man is this:

Put yourself in your customers place."

Orison Swett Marden, American Writer

As I see it. . . . . . . .

See the world though the eyes of your customers

When we put ourselves into the customers place we see the world through the eyes of our customers.

By seeing the world through our customer's eyes, we gain insight to the way the customer thinks their true motivation and their needs. As a result we gather invaluable information about our customers and we are better able to service their needs.

As you see the world through the eyes of your customers you create a strong business relationship with the customer one where we create the bond of rapport. That rapport grows to where the customers have confidence in us and they trust as a person.

Our rapport with becomes the foundation our relationship with the customer.

What starts out as building a relationship with our customers with the philosophy to see the world though the eyes of your customers, grows into a successful business relationship.

I guess I think back to when we were looking for our home.  Unfortunately, we had a "horrible" agent at the time, and I learned what "not" to do!  ;-)

I never had the opportunity to have an agent when I bought and sold, (to be able to learn from) because I was already licensed and handled my own.  Maybe I should go buy a house with someone else so I can see how they operate!

Great advice.  It's something I like to believe I do automatically, but this is a good reminder.  Thank you for the post.

Lou,

I agree, its all about perspective. You have a heart for service or you don't.

Great blog!! I think this is why it's so important to do the buyer consultation before putting your client in your car and showing them a million houses.  It allows you to truly get to know your customer and have a true understanding of not only what they're looking for, but why, when and how.

That is very true. Sometimes I am thankful that I am in my own shoes and not in the clients! sometimes even a brief moment in their shoes can be a lifetime.

It is important to look at life from other people's viewpoints.  We learn a lot from it, and can also better help our clients.

Lou,

Congratulations on the feature. This was the motto of JC Penney when he founded his stores. :)

Such a great point here. The only way you can sell is position yourself as the buyer and you will know what directions you need to make.  You want to sell that home quickly think like a buyer.

Trust is the key to success. If our clients don't trust us, they shouldn't use us.

Very profound and true statement. That attitude should be internalized and should shine through in everything we do.

What's that old saying!  Treat others as you would have them treat you!  A great rule of life.
