What is your 2011 Web Marketing Plan?

Mortgage and Lending with Atlantic Home Loans NMLS #99279

Web marketing is always changing, altering to the technologies available and trends driven by the consumers who rely on it for their online shopping resources. 2011 is poised to be the year when Social Media becomes the norm within company marketing plans instead of the anomaly and when a social media marketing, SMM, plan integrated with targeted email marketing takes the lead in most industries.

A few statistics that may be of interest to you:

  • More than 70% of the global populations now have a mobile phone, that's over 5 billion mobile subscribers.
  • In the US just about 9 out of every 10 people, including children, have a cell phone.
  • There are more than 60 million iPhones worldwide
  • Android is activating more than 160,000 devices a day

What do these stats mean for SMM and email marketing? With web accessible phones in the hands of billions of users who have Twitter and Facebook apps downloaded for regular use, now is the time to access the power of the internet to use tools like SMM and email marketing to promote your business, industry news and pertinent information to help build your brand.

It's important to keep your email marketing mobile friendly, which is covered by most email marketing tools like Swiftpage or Constant Contact. Build your lists from your Facebook, Linked In and Twitter contacts and send out regular informative and engaging info to your readers.

Consumers are looking to brands that use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to interact with their customers. Begin a social media marketing plan to offer hands on marketing to your target audience.

By growing your potential client list with regular social media networking and then following up with new contacts via email marketing, you keep your brand front of mind for your target audience and give your business an edge against the competition.

Patty, I enjoyed your blog and agree with you 100%. I have been active this past year on fb, twitter, LinkedIn and others. I have used Constant Contact each month as a newsletter provider to my database.  Is there anything important or different in the use of those social medias now with all the cell phone screen use?  I wasn't sure if you had found something that we should be doing differently that makes a bigger impact for consumers using their iphones to access our social media messages.

Thanks for all of your help!

Hi John -

I'd recommend a mobile marketing solution like www.golivemobile.com for your readers. Most mobile solutions offer integration with social media profiles and blogs to keep your contacts updated on all your marketing information.

Have a great New Year!
