Last call for boat owners and captains to take part in the city's 34th annual Holiday Boat Parade on Saturday, Dec. 18. Registration is free, and gifts and prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boats.
About 40 vessels have signed up so far, and the city's events coordinator Emily Lilly would like to see about 10 more boats floating down the Intracoastal Waterway.
The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. from C-15 on the Boca Raton-Delray Beach border. Judging will be held from the west side of Red Reef Park, across A1A from the beach, just north of Palmetto Park Road. There will also be grandstands set up for viewing at Silver Palm Park, 600 E. Palmetto Park Road.
Boat parade applications are on the city's Web site at www.ci.boca-raton.fl.us/rec/specialevents/.

David, when I lived in Boca Raton for 10 years we used to go and watch the parade in Pompono Beach every year.  Some evenings were cold but most of the time it was such an enjoyable event. The boats are decked out!
