CopyBlogger recently came out with a list of 8 great and easy ways to get more people to read your content.  CopyBlogger is a great website for help with blogging.  Here is the list of 8 great ways to get more people to read your blogs, web pages, posts, etc and my thoughts:

  1. Embrace the Line Break- use paragraphs.  Keep in mind most people skim over pages.  So by breaking your thoughts up, it make sit easier for them to skim and read what they want
  2. Break up your Topics with Sub Heads- just like using paragraphs this is a great idea.  Subheads are great if you are writing a longer post or have many different topics within the post
  3. Use Bullet Lists- I love this idea and I use it often.  It gets the reader's attention and makes it easier for your to highlight the important information.  I also like to use numbered lists
  4. Use Deep Captions- Image Captions are the most attention grabbing information on a page for most readers(skimmers).
  5. Add Highly Relevant Links-  More important then anything we do is to make the information we give relevant.  That is what keeps readers on your page and makes you appear as an expert on a topic.  Relevant links is part of this.
  6. Use Strategic Formatting- Bold the important words.  Or maybe even use different colors
  7. Use Numeric lists- I beat them to the punch and mentioned my love for numbered lists in #3.  I love numbered lists!!!  It makes the reading easier for the reader and easier for you to highlight a list of items that are important to the topic.
  8. Check your Dual Readership path- translation: Proof Read.  Are you giving the reader the jest of the post in the easiest and most direct way possible.
  9. BONUS!!!  Use Photos- it gets their attention and I have read that photos keep someone on your page for up to 3 times longer then pages/posts without photos.

I hope you found this information helpful.  Good luck with your blogging!
