Black Rock Train Station or Fairfield Metro Center or ?

Many of us have been calling the upcoming train station, the Black Rock Train Station, for years now, but the Town of Fairfield  and the State of Connecticut have decided to name the station the Fairfield Metro Station.  They have created a survey on the Fairfield town website to obtain input from the public.  The name of the train station is very important to those of us who live or own businesses in Black Rock as it promotes our community.

Ken Flatto, First Selectman of Fairfield, has found the response to changing the name to Fairfield Metro Station has been so negative that he has posted a survey to get public input after the fact (they already made signs on his earlier decision).  There are many different options for names in the survey besides Black Rock Train Station, which of course, makes it less likely that the Black Rock Train Station will be selected as the winner due to the dilution by alternative choices.

The Town of Fairfield, in conjunction with the State Department of Transportation, are now seeking input regarding the name of Fairfield's new (third) train station. Please log onto the Town of Fairfield website to take the survey  http://fairfieldct.org

Gail I followed the link and voted.  Boy was the third question loaded:

" 3. The current plan is to name the train station “Fairfield Metro”. It has been suggested that the name be changed. There will be some additional cost to produce new signs. Do you think the name should be changed?"

Talk about trying to influence the answer by bring in the additional cost to create new sign.

Gail - I have no clue why the powers that be want to change the name of the train station to something that not relevant to the Black Rock community.  I followed the link too and filled out the survey.  Hope it helps! :)
