On a daily basis, we get numerous calls from Realtors® interested in our marketing services. One of the number one questions they being with is how they can build a successful marketing campaign to grow their business.  While there are tons of factors that influence a successful marketing campaign (which you will no doubt see from me in my future posts), I'd like to address what I think is perhaps one of the most important factors in your marketing campaign.  You must be unique and you must position yourself in a strong position in your market. 

To successfully market yourself and get more listings there are three basic rules to positioning:  First, you must position yourself in relation to your competition. Know how you want to be perceived by customers and most importantly what makes you different from your competitors. Next, you must realize that image and uniqueness are important in the mind of the consumer (While it is true that "any marketing" is better than "no marketing", successful Realtors® never pick something off the shelf without customizing it to be their own).  Lastly and most importantly, devise a way to show your potential clients how this image and differentiation will benefit them.

Once you have devised these strategies, position your marketing strategy accordingly. Don't try to be everything to everybody. Pinpoint your customer and target his or her needs. As your business grows, prepare a strategic marketing plan, looking at how your services will meet the long-term needs of your clients (in other words, devise ways to promote repeat business and referral business) . Focus on specific marketing objectives, how to achieve them, and a path of appropriate actions to take.

Remember, there is nobody else out there like yourself.  So go out there and show the world what it is that makes you, you!
