December 16th is one of my favorite days of the holiday season. It's my Dad's birthday. And even though Dad isn't alive anymore, I still hold his birthday as a special day.  And today, I think Dad would be proud.

Early this morning I awoke to find a great offer on my Haymarket Short Sale.  This is a listing that has puzzled me since it hit the market.  It is tenant occupied, but is a very desirable home to first time buyers. Since the tenants' lease conveys, we've had no takers.  Not even an investor has stepped forward to write an offer.  So it was with great excitment that I hung up the phone after speaking with the Buyers' Agent.  Turns out the Buyers are under their own lease until the same time frame.  It was meant to be.  Now I just have to get the Short Sale package together and send it to the newest Mortgage Holder.  (The loan was sold a few weeks ago.)

I also have the possibliity of two Sellers with equity putting their homes on the market with me soon.  What a nice change that will be.  Yes, Short Sale Agents can sell regular listings too.  In fact, we're very good at it.

Dads are awesome, especially ones who are loved and remembered by their daughters. Yes, I'm biased because I am a father or a 7-year old princess myself. I also have a 9-year old Mini Me whom I am very proud of. My little man is so much like me it's scary.

Anyway, congrats on the new business, and thanks for sharing about you. That's the cool thing about real estate. It's not just about selling stuff. We get to share life with other people. Homes are more than a bunch of walls and a roof.

Cindy:  December 16th was traditionally the day our Christmas tree went up. Dad enjoyed having that family time on his birthday.  Of course it was torture as a kid to wait that long to put up the tree.
