The EverClean Company 970-613-1119 washing windowsMany years ago, we were finished building our house and  we were ready to move in.

The only thing standing in the way between us and moving day was the State Electrical Inspector. He had been to the house once but wanted our electrician to correct something.

The day the Inspector was called back, was a big day- without his signature we could not move in.

I was nervous about the inspection.

I had been washing the windows that day.

Because the windows were SO clean and because I was SO nervous, I turned and walked right into the (closed) patio door!  BOOF! right in front of the Inspector!

The only thing worse would have been if I'd knocked myself out cold or if we'd failed the inspection.

clean windows with mountain viewIt was so embarrassing!

That's the only drawback to having clean windows that I can think of - a bruised forehead and looking like a doofus!

We are lucky in Colorado to enjoy about 300 days of sunshine per year.  With dirty windows, it's hard to enjoy the view and enjoy that sunshine!  What a difference clean windows make!

Today, Cameron and Dave from The EverClean Company washed all of our windows inside and outside.  We have some high windows that require an extension ladder, so we leave that job to the pros and these guys are pros.

What a treat to be able to "see" and let the sunshine in again.

It was cold today, by noon it warmed up to a comfy 32 degrees.  I admired their work ethic and there are fixed windows that can only be washed from the outside....brrrrr.

So if you look out your Larimer County windows and it looks a little hazy - maybe smoggy- maybe foggy- maybe it's time to call the EverClean Company and get your view back!

They did a wonderful job and I will definitely recommend them in the future.

Call them - do it for you.  If your windows are dirty and your house is on the market, definitely do it!  Clean windows will help present your home in a much better light!

Thanks,  Great job guys!

Mary. I have only done that once while showing a house. It is very embarrassing. Did the inspector laugh?

That sounds like something I would do! Good thing you're OK though. It would have been a nightmare if your commission check went to pay for doctor bills!

Mary,

In Colorado, we get plenty of dust that tries to obstruct the beauty of Colorado, as well as inspectors.  LOL... g

Great recommendation Mary!  You will laugh at this one.  I used to work in a building that constantly had a window broken by people walking into it-they had stickers on it AND THERE WAS A ROCK GARDEN IN FRONT OF IT.  People still stepped up and walked through a rock garden and walked into this glass and broke it on a regular basis so don't feel bad about walking into yours!

Hmmm.... I had a friend crash right thru my screen door once, but I bet it didn't hurt as much as plowing right into the glass!! LOl

Merry Christmas, Mary!

Good morning Mary,

Windows need maintenance as well as your floors. I use to think of it as a treat but now feel it is worth the cost to care for our windows. Everything looks so bright and clean when your windows are sparkling!

Hi Jane, I like your idea of leading with your hand ...instead of your head :-)

Hi VB - I can imagine in your glass business that sparkly clean is a must!

Oh Ellie, it would be embarrassing during a showing, too! OUCH!  I don't remember if the inspector laughed, probably snickered a bit like some people do when things like that happen! HA!

Hi Gordon, it's true we have lots of dust (especially living on a gravel road)  and if I understood your comment - we have too many lots of inspectors too! :-)

Hi Craig, if I were you I would only photoshop running into a window - don't try it in real life! LOL

Hi Debra, I can't believe several people broke the window- even with stickers!  As long as they were not hurt, I would have to laugh about that one Debra.  :>)

Hi Gary, well thank you I appreciate your extra comment - you know I love your blog too :-)

Hi Debi, I have seen those screen crashers, generally at parties  :>)  I guess it depends on the landing whether the screen or the glass is the preferred method of looking like an idiot! LOL!

Hi Dorie,  You are so right, it does make everything look so clean and fresh.  This is one maintenance item that is reasonably affordable, too.

One of her friends (a "fishing buddy) asked her to stop cleaning it.  Since that wasn't an option, she went for the sun catcher.  It was a little owl.  I think she still has it.  But her patio door now has a white 12 pane grid.  And I'm sure glad you were laughing too.  I was feeling guilty about laughing.  I have the picture of it happening in slow motion in my head.

Tammy, you can't help but laugh, no need to feel guilty.  I think the paned door would define it well and hopefully her fishing buddy hasn't hit it lately :-)

Oh Sheldon, 50 people??!! You're a big show-off- LOL  I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, it hurts doesn't it?!!

Hi Kristi, Oh no, another member of the head-bonkers club!  Thanks, I love the view too now that I can finally see it again :-)

One thing I love to do in the winter, (though it makes more work in the spring) is to TAKE OFF THE SCREENS!  The views are so much better when there are no screens to look through AND the glass is clean!  We've had so much warm weather lately, I have recently washed all of my windows, in and out, and put the screens in the shower for a good wash before storing...not fun, but worth it! Nice localism post!

LOL funny story along with a testimonial!  My dogs, kids and husband will run into a clean patio door without fail every time I clean it.  We have lots of sunshine but also have dust here too!

Hi Cheryl, I noticed that when the screens were off the view was even better, you're right about that. They washed all the screens and put them back though which is just as well, we open our windows even in winter when south windows make it too warm in here.  At least with screens we won't be inviting any varmits in!

Hi Ann, you should definitely ask Santa, that would be a great Christmas present for you :-)

Hi Renee, The one time cleaning can be dangerous! LOL  Speaking of dogs, I see that mine has already left a muddy streak as she was pawing to get in...I guess she won't run into in now that the mud is visible.

While I have not done that (walked into the glass) my kids have!  I guess they were so used to them being a tad dirtier, especially on the outside that they become invisible.
