Spirits of NOLA

WOW!!! Anyone that knows me knows that I believe in Divine Intervention. That is very different from seeing spirits. But what do I make of this...This photo was taken Thursday Night as I was just enjoying the JAZZ on the streets before I went up to my room to prepare for Friday's meeting. Was thinking of the last time I was in New Orleans the last time NAR meetings were held there. When Julie Ryan, Ken and Mary Deshaies, Roger Lautt and I walked through the French Quarter to see the sites..to unwind from the intense meetings and "brain overload".

Trying to sympathize emotionally with those that were lost - taken in a flash from this world to the next. Trying to feel the somber mood and despair these poor people felt on August 29, 2005. Something possessed me to take some pictures of nothing. It was an overwhelming me. It became very emotional to continue standing out there alone. My roommates were out to dinner, for a moment I felt so alone. I shook myself off, said a prayer and went up to the room. Next time I am in New Orleans I think I will take the haunted streets tour.  http://www.hauntedhistorytours.com/Haunted.htm

Is that a face to the left of the photo? What are all the "pink blobs". Are the spirits of New Orleans happy we came to support their rebuilding efforts. Did thery come out to celebrate with us? Are these some of the "Lost" that had some unfinished business? It is very eerie. This photo created a lot of thoughts running through my mind. Just look at the picture and let me know what you think?

New Orleans is coming together again - trying to get its life back together and businesses ample enough to feed the employees that are here and to bring back those that have been misplaced.

August 29 marked a one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina There was a great article in USA Today about a JAZZ Funeral at the Morial Convention CENTER. This celebration was like the begining or rebirth of New Orleans. Then article is very interesting.

New Orleans is full of spirits - and spirit - and power - and was long before Katrina.  You just have to be in the mood to pay attention!  And clearly you were at that time.

Definitely spirits.

Not sure which proof, though - perhaps beer, maybe a hurricane (or two)

I don't live in New Orleans (though my husband's ancestors did and we've visited the Jumonville tomb). I've visited often over the years, and from the very first time, when I arrive it's like coming home.  And the spirits (both kinds, Ira!) are as evident, and welcoming, as the food and the people you CAN see with your eyes.  New Orleans is a place that's been lived in for a very, very long time that has developed a remarkable, and unique, spirit of its own.

Yes Teri, there is for sure. I believe in the supernatural, in a Higher Power and I do believe that the souls of many deceaed "hang around"until their job is done. This is especially true iftheybhad unfinisednwork and they went before their time. Wynne From Michigan

I'm of the firm opinion that the "supernatural" is simply an aspect of the "natural" that we haven't figured out how to explain yet.
