Pet Friendly or Really Pet Friendly?
When searching for pet-friendly housing in Boca Raton or Delray Beach, how do you know if the community is pet friendly? Is it pet friendly or is it really pet friendly? If you are looking for a home in the Boca Raton or Delray Beach area, the term pet friendly can mean many things.
First you must determine if it is a pet-friendly community. Once you've determined that it is indeed, then you can go on to find out the pet restrictions. Pet restrictions can vary greatly from community to community. It may mean that one cat is allowed or one dog with a maximum weight of 15 lbs. Or, the community may allow two pets with a maximum weight of 25 lbs and no - what they term - "vicious" breeds. Or, perhaps they allow more than three dogs with no weight restrictions.
Getting to the bottom of pet restrictions can be challenging. One listing may say one pet allowed 25 lbs. Another in the same community may say two pets allowed 21-30 lbs.
How are you, as a buyer, supposed to know if the community is really pet friendly? Oftentimes, the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations that were in place when the homeowners took over have been changed. You need to know this information if you are a pet owner! It's always best to contact a Boca Raton Real Estate Agent who is familiar and deals with this on a daily basis.
You don't want to end up in a situation where you have a house under contract only to find out your 30 lb dog is not welcome in the community. Please, when looking for pet-friendly housing, do your research first. You and your four-legged friends will be happier in the long run.
