Do you laugh or cry?

Find a cureMy friend’s aunt was so upset with her husband today. She had just recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and being in what he considered the early stages, he didn’t think anything about leaving her alone while he went to the club and played golf.

He got home this afternoon, and his wife met him at the door. Where had he been all day? It took her all day... by herself... to get that big ole tree and all those decorations put away.

Oh Gosh.. I think I would have to laugh.  That was too funny to cry.  My Grandmother had Alzheimer's and yes, it was heartbreaking, but some of the things I remember her doing was so funny. We all had a story to tell about her and still laugh after all these years.  It may not have been the impression she wanted to leave, but I'm sure if she had the choice, she would rather us laugh than cry.

I guess you have to laugh at things...but I wonder if she wakes up the next day realizing what she did?  Yes, this is a true story and it really did happen.  I am just happy at this point... that it didn't happen to me!

Very nice post.  It's hard to say, laugh or cry.  Always hits harder when a family member has Alzheimers.  Nice story!  Thanks for posting.
