In Bristow (Gainesville, Manassas), VA schools are closed due to snow and the kids are bundled up in the ski outfits and sleds are out! Coming from Florida, this is cold. BUT, what could be more fun on a Friday than sledding down the hill with your kids and baking Christmas cookies? If it's gonna be cold, I guess a little snow at Christmas is permitted!

We had 51 degrees this week and no snow Tuesday, then a dusty only so we are anxious for more to ski, snowsled, ice skate play on. If you are cold in winter, you are not dressed right and maybe that t-shirt and shorts has something to do with it and the Brrr mutter some folks over and over sputter.

Lenn, winter arrived Sunday here. It rained all day Saturday so they couldn't prep the streets. That just ment that they froze before the snow started. Love having Ice under the snow! Not.

Margaret. I'm in a hilly area near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range. There's some flat land in this area a bit farther east or south, but most is closer to the ocean. I've been in your area, very flat indeed.
