Yes, today at the PetSmart in Clackamas, County, I will be dressed up as Santa to take pictures with any pet you choose to bring in to help raise funds for a no kill animal shelter in Oregon City. The Oregon Ferret Shelter is a shelter that I’ve been volunteering for almost 15 years.

Santa's little helper

This shelter helps with pets that can no longer be taken care of by their owners, usually because their owners are moving to California for job relocations and find out that you can’t own a ferret as a pet in California leaving them with a pet they have no idea what to do with.

This is where the shelter comes in to save the day, they take these very loved pets and find new homes for them with other families around Oregon that are looking to adopt a ferret. So, bring your cat, dog, bird, pig and even ferret in today for pictures with Santa and help a very good cause. Today from 11am-4pm, hope to see you there!

Todd,
It is always sad to see pets, or strays, in trouble. It sounds like this is a very worthy cause.

Sorry Todd but Vegas Bob will have to pass on this one! I haven't had a pet in so many years that I miss them, but Vegas is a very difficult place to have pets unless you have some acreage or a large lot. Also the extreme heat is very difficult for them. When I retire at my place on the lake I will have several pets and I think your wonderful post will go "GOLD" ... ;)

What a fun way to support an important cause in your area!  Though I think it's too long a drive to bring my dog (& the cats don't even like to get IN the car!!)

Santa Dog looks just like my Lulu!  A labradoodle  - so adorable!

I pray the shelter has a great turnout and the pets find loving families to go home with!

How cool is that? I had no idea a person couldn't have a ferret as a pet here in California. Interesting.

Bless you for doing this!  Now, I would like to see a ferret posing with Santa...or better yet, in a Christmas outfit.  That would be something to see!

As a dog owner, I hate to see abandoned pets. Hope the turn out was good and you raised lots of money.

Thank you so much for volunteering to help pets!! It is a great cause.. I had no idea that you couldn't have a ferret in CA.... What is the reason behind that I wonder... I love the photo!! you should have a bunch of little outfits like that and take their animals in a Santa suite!! too cute!!
