HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME...

 

Yesterday was my birthday and I have to say my husband has earned himself enough "husband points" to carry himself well into 2011! 

When my daughter was young, like many children she wanted a pet.  And being the good parents that we were, we got her not one but two.  Skittles joined our family in the spring of 1991 and Skamps in the spring of 1994.  They both brought great joy to us over the years, but unfortunately in the fall of 2009 Skamps became sick and we had to put her to sleep.  Skittles lived on for a bit longer, but in the summer of 2010 at the age of 19 she finally could make it no longer.  If you have ever lost a pet, you know how hard it is - after that many years they become a part of your life and find a very special place in your heart.

They say that time heals all wounds, and if it doesn't then maybe a new little kitty can fill some of that loss.  Here is what my husband bought me for my birthday. 

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to me!

Yep, we are getting along just fine!   :)

That is great...  Happy Birthday....   We have lost two dogs in the past few years, one by heart attack at only 2.5 years old, the other just a long happy life to the very end but when the quality of life looked dim we had to make the decision.  Now we have two, two at the same time.. Crazy...  And they both have issues, but they are our family and we will do whatever we need to, go where ever we need to and love them without rules.

Ken - WOW two, don't know how you are doing that.  This little one is keeping me plenty busy, I don't think I could do it by two.  I am sorry that they are both having problems but glad they have you and your family to love them.  Have a great day.  ...geri
