Another landmark going down. More progress in Searcy Arkansas.

Rumor had it that the square corner of Sawmill Road and Country Club Road East in Searcy Arkansas had been sold for a HUGE amount of money.

What's a square corner?  Well, I've heard that they go back so far that when roads were being made the old farmer would say, "You aint going through my pasture but you can go around the edge of it."  Thus the corner could be sharp and square.  In Arkansas we still have quite a few of them.

On this square corner was an old horse and his barn.  I watched him for years as I made my way home.  The corner grew up with weeds, the horse died but the barn lived on.  Being a square corner made it more difficult for long vehicles to turn so the posts got beat up pretty regularly.

So now when I drive by I can see the barn coming down.  Progress is on it's way.....I guess.  Stay tuned for another chapter of Searcy Arkansas on the grow.

Godson Nut, you need to sober up.  The horse is dead.

Barbara,

I did notice when they painted it. I used to work at Harps and would notice that building as I drove in every day. I was thinking it would fall apart before it got repainted, but I'm glad to see that's not true.

Luke, you worked at Harps?  When it first opened I wrote a blog about their lying about the ripeness of their avocados.  I thought it was a funny blog.  Someone who worked their took offense and defended them.  LOL  Was that you??

Kate, thanks for commenting.  I'm spending less time on the blog site now but still love all my original friends.  Happy Holidays to you also.

I can't say anything about the ripeness of their avocados since I didn't work in produce, but no, it wasn't me who defended them. I would contend that they are the highest quality grocery store in town, however! I think Jenna has had plenty of satisfactory avocados since we started shopping there.

Incidentally, I worked there from late September 2009 to early April 2010.

Luke, going back to my old blog I can see it was not a Harp's person but a Wal-mart person who defended the clerk who put them out.  Here's the old one. http://activerain.com/blogsview/611480/our-new-harp-s-grocery-lied-to-me-about-ripe-avocados-

Dear godmother,
I am sober and working this holiday as a monk. I shall say a little prayer for that poor horse. Godmother will you be attending the funeral?

Merry Christmas to you Judi.

Nutsy, the horse has been gone for a long time.  He is actually friends with Raven now.  As for you.....my little almost-ex-godson, I am not stupid enough to believe that you have been hired as a monk.  You must be wearing that outfit to hide something.  Contraband?

Godmother,

You are correct that I am wearing the robe to make you happy. Beneath it I still have on my hernia truss. And I knows that seeing that angers you muchly.

Ms Anita,

Kate is a cruel and heartless woman. She does not spar, she tries to take large bites from my hide and I am not up for that having been confined to a prescription hernia truss which has angered my Godmother because she believes that it overly exposes my privates.

Thank you Godmother,

Would you like me to send to you my truss, so you can remember the days when Godson was less than perfect. You could hang it on your office wall on a hook I think.

Godmother,

I guess that your lack of a response is a NO to my offer. Where are you Godmother? Did you survive Christmas?

Nutsy, Christmas has been time-consuming.  No time to read blogs, no time to write blogs, no time to praise godsons, no time to chastise godchildren.  But a new year is around the corner and I'll be checking in with you.  So be good!
