The December Challenges . . . Keeping the Christmas Spirit and Working to Maintain The Business

Christmas is an important day for so many reasons.

It is the celebrated anniversary of the birth of the Christ child.

It represents a time of good fellowship and the delivery of presents to children by St. Nick, better known as Santa Claus.

It also is a time of great joy for parents of little ones, and grandparents as well, for the expressions of joy in little eyes with the new toys they receive.

Saturday we had our annual Christmas Luncheon. It allowed family members to sit and visit with each other without the anxiety of Christmas Day visits. For some it was also a chance to bring a special toy to our latest grandchild, Raphael. He allowed me to take his photo with his dog doll, Ruff this morning dressed in his Sunday Finery.

♫   It's the most wonderful time of the year,
With the kids jingle belling,
And everyone telling you, "Be of good cheer"
It's the most wonderful time of the year.

It's the hap-happiest season of all,
With those holiday greetings,
And glad happy meetings when friends come to call,
It's the hap-happiest season of all.

There'll be parties for hosting,
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow,
There'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories
Of Christmases long, long ago.

It's the most wonderful time of the year,
There'll be much mistletoe-ing
And hearts will be glowing, when loved ones are near,
It's the most wonderful time of the year.  ♫

Day 19:  I didn't expect to do much at all today because of the activities of Saturday. Church at 10:00 AM, and into the social hall after wards for coffee and some visiting. I did pass out my new cards so that people would not forget me in the New Year, as if, but you can never be sure.

After lunch, some ActiveRain time, some sports, Yeah UConn Girls, and do some final works on 2010 files.

Ed, Raphael looks like a natural in front of a camera.  Maybe he has a little ham in him like Grandpa :)

Hi Ed - Looks like Raphael is very proud of his dog doll, Ruff; almost as proud of him as his grandfather is of Raphael!  Enjoy your Christmas!!

Juli, that dog was quite a hit with the kids, and there were a lot of tears when the kids were leaving and the dog stayed. Raphael is trying to get a ride on it. Thanks for stopping

Ed, you're making a hit with those Christmas Carol re-writes...Oh, wait, that wasn't an Ed version, was it?

I'm glad you wrote out the lyrics, because I never knew them.

The picture is a cute one!
