Speechless Sunday (with a little bit of text) Over near downtown La Jolla is the Children's Pool, which has one of Southern California's few harbor seal rookeries. It currently is pupping season for the harbor seals, so I went a couple of days ago to see what pups I could find. This little one was having a splash (pun intended) in the water. It was a very low tide, so lots of rocks that are normally underwater were exposed, leaving lots of places for the harbor seals to lay out in the cool water and soak up a little sun. ♪♫♫♫♪ If you're looking for a great real estate agent in San Diego, well, I'm available 24/7, so feel free to contact me by phone or email. I guess if they were here in Northeast Ohio they would have been chipping away at the ice to get free.
Hi Jim - Low tide photographs in La Jolla is a very popular topic right now. Russel posted a post just seven minutes after you. Great minds think alike, eh?
Very cool to see the pup on the beach soaking up a little sun.........great photo Jim.
Ah, this was one my favorite place to go when I visited my daughter when she lived in San Diego. They are so playful, funny and cute!
Jim,
We have a rookery here, and apparently the season for pups is in Jan/Feb. Love the low tides, too bad it is pouring here, non-stop. A
Jim,
Thanks for the glimpse of La Jolla's "wildlife". What a great place to live.

Jim, this looks like a nice little seal, not like the ones we saw in the movie Eight Below, you might like that movie, you will see things that you are not used of seeing... Snow!!!
What a great photo. Plus, La Jolla is awesome. We will have to try and come out this time of year some time and see if we have any luck with the pups as well. Cheers!
Jim, this is a wonderful pic of a pup...i've been told there have been a few seals beaching themselves on my RI beach in my neighborhood but have not seen one as of yet...perhaps in the morning walk..thanks!
