What cookies are you baking this year? I bake the traditional Chocolate Chip, Spritz, Sugar, Coconut Macaroons, Chocolate Mint Crinkles and The Cream Cheese Frills (recipe below). Let me know what you are making and share the recipe.
Cream Cheese Frills
This is a recipe that my Grandmother made every year. When she hit her late 80's she taught me how to make them as it was a little harder for her to do them. She has been gone 12 years and I still carry on the tradition.
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup oatmeal (quick)
8oz cream cheese
raspberry preserves or jam (if you don't want the seeds)
Pre-heat oven to 450°
Beat butter and vanilla until creamy. Add flour and oats mix well, add cream cheese beat until smooth – chill.
Roll out dough until ¼” thick. Cut into 2” squares and place on un-greased cookie sheet. Spoon on some raspberry preserves. Pinch two opposite corners together and bake 10 – 12 minutes.
Happy Holidays!!
