I don't know what it is, but cats love things white. Just lay an open magazine or piece of white paper in the middle of a room and within minutes the cat goes and lays on it.....

I've yet to try this with my cat.  Although when I saw it, (On Sheldon's blog) a while ago, he dared me to try it with my Great Dane.  I told him I couldn't waste that kind of paper.  That's one good natured cat though.
