iPad versus Galaxy

By

Can the Samsung Galaxy be better than Apple's iPad? I have been asking myself that question all morning and last night when I saw the new Galaxy commercials. I have owned an iPad for about 5 months and am very happy until I upgraded to the new IOS 4.2, which seems to drain my battery quickly.

Apple iPad versus Samsung Galaxy

Sure the Galaxy does have features that people wish the iPad have such as cameras for video chat, Adobe Flash support to view Flash websites, support for additional media files, and a smaller 7 inch profile compare to the 9 inch of the iPad. The Galaxy also have SD card support to expand memory compare to the default 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of the iPad, which cost $100 extra to double the memory.

I don't think I will run out to buy the Galaxy because I don't know the track record of the device. Apple is known to make really beautiful devices that look great and simple to use. There are rumors of a new iPad this coming Spring so I am just sitting on the sideline to see them duke it out. Hopefully that would make these companies add more features and lower the prices. Only time will tell.

I have actually debated on which one to get. I like the I-pad, but I am a big microsoft fan. I guess I will wait as well

Interesting... keep us updated on what you find out.  I haven't bought either device... so I am on the fence.

I love my iPad but would still be interested in hearing the reviews on the Samsung Galaxy. I own the Samsung Galaxy phone and it far exceeds my former Blackberry.

Include me in that comparison.  I have the Galaxy S and staying with the same type system seems smart.   But that Ipad really grabs my eye.

Thanks for your insights, Song. I'm waiting for the next version of iPad (and a couple of more closings, too!)

Song,

I just returned the g-Pad made by ViewSonic. It was also an android device, but it had far too many limitations. Flash didn't work like it does on PCs, and there was no access to the android market. Apparently Google only allows that for phones. I'm not sure these devices are ready for prime time yet.

I hear Blackberry is also coming out with one.  I'll wait until spring and read all the reviews before choosing.

Devin: Thanks for the feedback.

Joan: Thanks and I will.

Keisha: So far the reviews for the Galaxy are very positive. Hopefully that will force Apple to make the iPad v2.0 much better.

Shirley: Everything coming out from Apple are very attractive to the eyes.

John: Since getting the iPad about 5 months ago, it helped me got 2 more extra closings, so it was worth it.
