It's Not Christmas Music

It's not Christmas music or any kind of holiday music...but Ann Allen did a post featuring The Monkee's that was Holiday music and for some reason another Monkee's tune popped into my head. I repeat that this is not Christmas music and I don't think the two pieces could be farther apart, but I've always liked it for the visuals I get while listening and the style that is not usually associated with the Monkee's. I'm guessing that not many here have heard this...and I once read somewhere that Aerosmith should do a remake of this...I think they should too. The sound quality isn't the best, but it's a fun song.

Hope everyone had a great New Years celebration.

Jim-it is unusual for the monkees...I don't think you can actually read the lyrics and sing the song at the same time, the word just fly by...lyrics need to be memorized. I do remember something about a circus show he was in as a kid...so I aged myself.

George-I always liked this tune because it was so different for them and the time. I've decided to memorize the lyrics...guess I have too much time on my hands.

Cynthia-this tune was originally based on Mose Allison's "Parchment Farm", but the decision was made to come up with their own lyrics...Don Kershner had one of his writers, Diane Hilderbrandt work the story or plot with Micky Dolenz and this is what they ended up with.
