Most people when they think about Saint Simons Island, Georgia they think of $1 million mansions on the beach and golf courses. But, in reality there are many homes and condos on Saint Simons Island for less than $300,000. The more affordable homes are not directly on the beach, but most are within a short bike ride of the beach. In the condo complex where I currently live there are two condos priced below $260,000 and they are a 1 minute walk from the village area on the south end on Saint Simons Island.
The homes that are available on Saint Simons Island for less than $300,000 are mostly located in the Glynn Haven neighborhood (most are less than $260,000). They are a less than 5 minute drive from the beach or about 15 minutes by bike. Either a condo or a home purchase on Saint Simons Island is a good investment. Because people will always want to live on Saint Simons Island and there is only so much land. So, when you think of Saint Simons Island remember the middle class can afford to own here not just the wealthy.
